Forecasting the movement in the Rupee is not the easiest or the safest of tasks and experts without exception were caught on the wrong foot in 1995. The point is that the market is not developed, nor is it deep and has a very short hisory of two - way movement. Economic data is also not as readily available as it is for the Majors. Fundamental analysis leans heavily on analysis of the external sector (trade scenario and foreign investment) while Technical analysis is impossible.
That apart, the future of the Indian Rupee market itself holds promise as India integrates faster into the world economy and local financial - banking sector pulls itself together.
